Terms of service
Last updated:
These terms apply to your use of the Lexora website and all its features: the AI meeting simulation, school report explanations, meeting notes and recordings, messages with teachers, and educator accounts. By creating an account or using Lexora, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.
1. Who we are
Lexora is offered by:
Lexora Contact form2. The service
Lexora helps parents take part in school conversations in the Dutch education system. With a parent account you can:
- practise school meetings with an AI teacher and get feedback and a readiness score;
- understand school reports: upload a report and get an explanation in your language;
- keep meeting notes: record a meeting, upload a file or type your notes, and get a transcript and a summary in your language;
- message teachers: inside Lexora with teachers you link with through a code, or by email with teachers who are not on Lexora. Lexora can translate messages and help you write polite Dutch.
With an educator account, teachers and school staff can link with families, message them and share school reports and meeting notes, which the family sees explained in their own language.
You choose the language Lexora explains things in, and you can switch it for each report or meeting. Lexora is currently in a pilot phase. During the pilot, the service is free of charge. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you in advance and you will only pay after agreeing to it explicitly.
3. Who can use Lexora
You must be 18 years or older to create an account. You may have only one personal account and must give correct information. Parent accounts are for parents and carers. Educator accounts are for people who work at a school or with pupils in a school role, such as teachers, mentors and intern begeleiders, and may only be used for the families they work with.
4. Your account
Keep your password secret and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens through your account, unless you could not reasonably have prevented it. Educators: share your link code only with the families you work with, and make a new code if it reaches the wrong people. You can delete your account at any time on your profile page.
5. About the AI
- Lexora uses AI. The teacher in the simulation, the feedback, the readiness score, report explanations, meeting transcripts and summaries, translations and the polite-Dutch suggestions are all generated automatically by artificial intelligence.
- AI can make mistakes. It can misread a grade, miss a sentence in a recording or translate something wrongly, and answers about Dutch schools, rules or procedures can be incomplete or wrong. Always compare an explanation with the original report, and ask the teacher when something important is unclear.
- Lexora is a tool to help you prepare and understand. It is not legal, educational, medical or psychological advice, and it does not replace the school, an interpreter or a professional advisor. Always check important decisions — such as the school advice — with your child’s school or an official source.
- The scores are indications to help you practise. They say nothing about you or your child as a person and are not shared with schools.
6. School documents and recordings
- Only upload documents you are allowed to have and use, such as your own child’s school reports and notes of your own meetings. Do not upload documents about other children.
- Ask everyone in the meeting before you record it. Recording people without their permission can be against the law and against the school’s rules. You are responsible for having that permission.
- Educators: only share documents with the family they are about, and follow your school’s rules for sharing pupil information. What you share is placed in the family’s account; you can remove it later.
7. Messages with teachers
- Lexora delivers your messages, but it is not an emergency or official school channel. For urgent matters — such as your child being ill or absent — contact the school directly in the way the school asks.
- We cannot promise that a teacher reads or answers a message, or how quickly.
- You are responsible for what you send, also when Lexora helped you write it or translated it. Read the Dutch suggestion before you send it.
- Teachers without a Lexora account receive your messages by email with a private reply link. Only enter the school email address of a teacher who works with your child.
- Be respectful. Do not send messages that are threatening, insulting or unwanted, or messages to people who have asked you to stop.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Lexora for anything illegal, harmful, discriminatory or abusive;
- enter personal or sensitive data about other people in the simulation, such as full names, health details or diagnoses;
- upload documents or recordings you have no right to use, or record people without their permission;
- use messages or the link code for spam, advertising or contact that is not about a pupil you work with or your own child;
- try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or get around its usage limits;
- try to make the AI produce harmful or misleading content, or present its output as advice from a real school.
We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where reasonable, we will warn you first.
9. Content and intellectual property
What you type, upload and record stays yours. You give us permission to process it only as needed to provide Lexora: to make explanations, transcripts, summaries and translations, and to deliver your messages and what you share (see our privacy policy). When an educator shares a document, the family may keep it in their account until they or the educator remove it. The Lexora name, logo, scenarios, texts, design and software belong to Lexora or its licensors. You may use them only to use the service yourself.
10. Availability and changes
We do our best to keep Lexora available and working well, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or error-free, especially during the pilot. We also cannot guarantee that every email or message is delivered. We may change, improve or stop (parts of) the service. If we stop the service completely, we will tell account holders in good time so they can download their data.
11. Liability
Lexora is a free tool to help you prepare and understand. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions you make based on the simulation, an explanation, a summary or a translation, for messages that are not delivered or not answered, or for indirect damage. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, or any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
12. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Lexora and delete your account at any time. We may end the agreement for a serious reason, such as misuse. When an account is deleted, we delete the data linked to it as described in the privacy policy, including reports, meeting notes, recordings and messages. When an educator ends a link or deletes their account, the family keeps the conversation and the documents that were shared in their own account, until they delete them.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will announce important changes at least 30 days in advance by email or on the website. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before the changes take effect.
14. Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you live in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country. Please contact us first if you have a complaint — we will try to find a solution together. If that does not work, the dispute can be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands, or the court of your place of residence if you are a consumer.
